Fireworks Safety
Light fireworks safely and responsibly
Boom City may provide a designated lighting area during the season. Whether you use that area or light fireworks somewhere else, always follow posted rules, local laws, product instructions, and basic safety practices.
-
Use approved spaces Light fireworks only where it is allowed, away from buildings, vehicles, tents, dry grass, and crowds.
-
Keep adult supervision close Children should never light fireworks. Keep spectators, kids, and pets a safe distance back before anything is lit.
-
Have water ready Keep a bucket of water, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby, and soak used fireworks before throwing them away.
-
Light one at a time Place fireworks on a flat, stable surface, light the fuse, and move away quickly. Never hold lit fireworks in your hand.
-
Do not relight a dud Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it in water. Never lean over or try to restart a firework that did not go off.
-
Read every label Follow the printed instructions for each firework, including distance, direction, and whether it is meant for ground or aerial use.
Fireworks are used at your own risk. This information is general safety guidance and does not replace posted event rules, local regulations, or manufacturer instructions.
